LA PEUGE en Mai

La Peuge en mai was born out of a desire to link the workers' struggles of the spring of 1968 with contemporary research by improvising musicians composers.

From this intuition arose the desire to collect the testimony of my grandfather, former worker of the Peugeot factories of the Montbeliard country, on the memories of his working conditions and the workers' struggles of May 68.

I then resumed this system of interviews with other former workers, activists or union leaders, multiplying the meetings and exchanges around the spring 68 and Peugeot center of the country of Montbéliard, and bringing together a sound material that will form the center a - both documentary and poetic - musical work. To make dialogue between testimonies and improvised music will allow to emerge an original sound matter.

It is therefore a matter of questioning the boundaries between the listening of sounds and words, between music - written and improvised - and radio documentary. A contemporary adventure based on a work of memory, to think, share and dream with the public. Geoffroy Gesser
