WONDERBACH

Wonderbach is born from the meeting of improvisers Marie Takahashi on violin, Yann Joussein on drums, Olivia Scemama on double bass and Manuel Adnot on guitar. Each of them coming from different musical aesthetics ranging from contemporary music, noise, improvised music alternative and abstract, extreme music and from classical and jazz. These diverse influences come together as a singular sound identity, where music circulates in a totally improvised way.

Wonderbach emphasizes the full and generous sound of acoustic instruments, wood, skins, metals, while keeping a tension between a modal universe and a more experimental and austere world. In concert, the music is played without any sound system, emphasizing on the relation to the sound and the body. For their first album, Wonderbach wanted to insist on these characteristics by using a minimum of sound processing, to remain faithful to the sensations of proximity and intimacy that emanate from the band.
